Manager of Patient Services, Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Western Health currently requires a Manager of Patient Services on a permanent basis at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook. The manager is accountable for the Maternal Newborn Unit and the Women and Children's Health Unit; however, management of any or all clinical department areas is expected when required. Also, assigned units are subject to change based on ongoing initiatives or changing priorities.

This position reports to the Director of Patient Services - Surgery Program and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the staff in these areas to promote excellence in patient care. The successful incumbent will demonstrate the ability to coordinate, integrate, and facilitate the provision of care services, manage resources effectively, direct and lead the care team as well as plan and direct change effectively. The incumbent will need to balance patient care requirements with the available resources to promote the best possible outcomes. To achieve this goal the manager oversees personnel, services, growth, and fiscal responsibilities. The successful candidate must demonstrate the key skills, behaviours, abilities and knowledge as outlined in the five domains of the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A member of a health related discipline with current registration through a provincial regulatory body is required. A baccalaureate degree in health, business, or management is also required. A minimum of five years' experience as a registered health care provider is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of Obstetrics and Women and Children's Health. Previous leadership/management experience is an asset but not required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style, strong interpersonal skills, team building, program planning, critical thinking, effective problem solving, decision making and communication skills and will have the ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period
0800-1600, 0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday
Salary: $69,303 to $90,094 per Annum
