Kinesiologist- Occupational Rehabilitation and Ergonomic Services (ORES)
Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Definition of Work: This position provides ergonomic services to Western Health and its employees. The incumbent will be responsible for completing staff education sessions on various ergonomic and safety topics including safe patient handling, body mechanics, safe lifting techniques, and safe work practices. Education sessions will be developed in collaboration with the ORES Department Clinical Lead. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing follow-up support for clients who have recently received ergonomic workstation equipment as well as the implementation and supervision of work hardening and return to work programs. The position will work closely with and be supported by the ORES Department Clinical Lead and Occupational Therapist.

Required Qualifications: Strong working knowledge of human movement as it relates to health and wellbeing; knowledge and experience in ergonomics, and workplace health and safety would be an asset. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role as part of a consultative and collaborative team. Ability to lift up to 50lbs is required. Undergraduate Degree (Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics) and eligibility for registration with the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance and the NL Kinesiology Association is required. BLS Certification is required.

*Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

*The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment. A valid driver's license is also required.

Hours of Work: 75 Hours per pay period
0800-1600 and 0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday
Salary Scale: $37.65 to $42.12 per hour
