Social Worker I - FACTT- Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team
Mental Health and Addictions, Stephenville, NL

Western Health currently requires a Social Worker I for the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team, Mental Health and Addiction Services.

DUTIES: The Social Worker I is an integral member of the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team (FACT) that provides intensive mobile services to individuals with sever and persistent mental illness and concurrent related complexities of mental health issues/disorders. The Social Worker I has responsibility for the delivery of specialized social work intervention and health promotion. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, the position is responsible for providing comprehensive client assessments and support to individuals in establishing personal recovery plans as well as short and long-term goals. The successful applicant will consult and work in partnership with local employers, service providers and community agencies in the provision of service to clients of the FACT Team. The incumbent will work closely with police in the delivery of Mobile Crisis Response.

While the primary function of this position is to support operations of the FACT Team, the Social Worker I may be involved in assessment, treatment, follow up and support of individuals with mental health and addictions needs throughout various mental health and addictions programs and services.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor of Social Work Degree is required. Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Mental Health field, including significant current knowledge and experience in utilizing specific Mental Health and Addiction approaches, including assessment, counselling and crisis intervention with individuals and their families is required. Demonstrated knowledge of professional Social Work practices, community resource utilization, and foundations of practice in the areas of mental health and addictions, including related issues and impacts, along with related theories, techniques and intervention. Effective crisis intervention, assessment, analytical, and communication skills required. Candidates will also demonstrate a high level of self-awareness, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships including those with clients, co-workers, supervisors, other professionals and community partners. Current registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Work is required. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

If no candidates meet the required qualifications, other levels of training and experience may be considered.

Please Note: The use of a private vehicle is a condition of employment.

Hours of Work: 75 Hours per pay period
0830-1630, 1200-2000, 0830-2030 Hours; evenings and weekends; standby required.
Salary Scale: $71,116.50 to $79,579.50 per Annum
