Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, Western Zone, which is situated on the scenic west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking the services of a fee for service, Orthopedic Surgeon to practice at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. Western Memorial Regional Hospital, 1 Brookfield Ave, Corner Brook, Newfoundland, is a 171-bed regional referral center for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 78,000 people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador's Faculty of Medicine and we encourage and support academic interests. Locum positions are also available.

The successful applicant's clinical skill set must include advanced surgical skills in lower extremity arthroplasty, and complex revision hip and knee arthroplasty, with sub-specialty fellowship training in lower extremity arthroplasty. Additional fellowship training in the management of metastatic disease will be considered favorably. The successful applicant will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills and initiative to advance the clinical and academic productivity and to further surgical education at all levels of the Orthopedic Surgery Division.

Applicants must have a medical degree, Fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery, Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and be Eligible for licensure as an Orthopedic Surgeon with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), and meet the credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Surgery. Two years of related work would be an asset for this position. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Remuneration: Fee for Service basis as per the Medical Care Plan (MCP) fee schedule. An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) along with Relocation expenses and a one-time Housing Allowance.
